ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Fleet, the Director of Fleet Management provides executive leadership and operational oversight to drive the success, efficiency, and profitability of the MYR Fleet organization. As a key strategic leader, the Director architects the corporate fleet vision, establishes comprehensive asset lifecycle strategies, and executes advanced financial optimization frameworks to maximize the return on all corporate fleet assets.

Essential Functions
  • Executive Advisory: Deliver asset utilization metrics, financial performance, and capital deployment strategies directly to the C-suite and Board
  • Financial Stewardship: Direct the annual fleet budgeting process OpEx & CapEx, equipment rate calculations, and total expenditure oversight
  • Risk & Compliance: Uphold SOX controls, spearhead internal/external audit responses, and author corporate fleet policies
  • Strategic Sourcing: Negotiate high-value national account agreements alongside Legal and Risk Management to maximize cost savings
  • Technology & Innovation: Strategy, select, and deploy fleet management technologies to automate workflows and scale operational efficiencies
  • Performance Architecture: Establish enterprise KPIs and advanced reporting structures to drive cross-functional accountability and performance
  • Corporate Governance: Execute M&A due diligence while maintaining strict adherence to safety, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • All other duties as identified and assigned

ABOUT YOU Qualifications
  • 8 plus years of fleet management experience, highlighting a minimum of 5 years in escalating supervisory and senior leadership roles.
  • Advanced operational expertise specifically within the electrical construction or utility infrastructure sector.
  • Proven success managing multi-million dollar budgets and highly complex, geographically dispersed portfolios of specialized utility vehicles and heavy construction equipment.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success directing, mentoring, and scaling high-performing, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline; equivalent executive-level field experience and specialized training fully considered

  • Regulatory Governance: Mastery of compliance frameworks (DOT, FMCSA, EPA, OSHA)

    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
