What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and optimize fixed plant maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and operational performance.

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for plant processing equipment.

  • Develop and coach maintenance team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, contractors, and capital projects to support efficient operations.

  • Partner with operations teams to identify improvement opportunities, reduce downtime, and improve plant performance.

What Are We Looking For

  • Demonstrated ability to lead maintenance operations in an industrial, manufacturing, mining, quarry, aggregates, cement, or similar environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process equipment maintenance practices.

  • Proven capability to plan, organize, and prioritize resources to achieve operational and maintenance objectives.

  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and team development skills with a focus on collaboration and safety.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Critical Experiences & Skills

  • Experience leading maintenance teams responsible for fixed plant assets, including crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, motors, and material processing equipment.

  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.

  • Ability to analyze equipment performance data, identify root causes, and implement sustainable reliability improvements.

  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, inventory, contractors, shutdowns, and capital improvement projects.

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental requirements, and maintenance best practices in a heavy industrial environment.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.

  • 7+ years of maintenance experience supporting fixed plant operations in quarry, mining, aggregates, cement, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environments.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience supervising maintenance personnel, contractors, or cross-functional teams.

  • Experience supporting and maintaining crushing, screening, conveying, and material processing systems preferred.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Ability to walk extensively throughout a quarry and plant environment, including uneven terrain and outdoor work areas.

  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms to inspect and evaluate equipment and maintenance activities.

  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces while adhering to all safety requirements and procedures.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, crouch, and perform physical inspections for extended periods.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and other site-specific safety equipment.

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and around dust, noise, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.

  • Ability to respond to equipment issues and emergency situations that may require extended hours, off-shift work, or on-call availability.

Work Environment

  • Primarily based in a quarry and plant environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, moving machinery, and production activities.

  • Requires regular field presence to inspect equipment, support maintenance activities, and engage with employees.

  • May require occasional travel and flexibility to support operational needs, including emergency maintenance situations.

  • Ability to work in an environment requiring walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating elevated work platforms.
