Job description

Description

We are seeking a high-octane, culture-first VP of Field Operations to serve as the right hand to the CEO when it comes to all-things at the gym operating level. The ideal candidate is a seasoned multi-unit operator who possesses the rare ability to go between high-level strategic scaling and hands-on execution. You aren't just overseeing multi-unit operations; you are building the playbook that will allow the company to scale nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence & Scalability

  • Playbook: Standardize and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all locations to ensure company's experience is identical regardless of which state a customer is in.
  • Expansion Management: Oversee the hands-on operational launch of 6+ new units in 2026, ensuring on-time openings, clear and defined training processes for newly hired team members, and assisting in an effective pre-sale/pre-registration cycle.
  • Supply Chain/Facilities: Manage vendor relationships and facility maintenance standards to ensure a safe, brand-standard environment for our customers.

Financial Rigor & KPI Management

  • Performance Tracking: Own the multi-unit Operational P&L. Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including labor efficiency, growth, retention, lead-to-customer conversion, 4-wall EBITDA margins, etc.
  • Board/PE Reporting: Prepare and present operational updates to our Private Equity group and Board of Directors providing data-driven insights and course-correction strategies.

 People & Culture Leadership

  • Talent Architecture: Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategy for unit-level and regional leaders and      all key unit-level leaders. You must have a track record of a high hit rate on leadership hires.
  • Culture Carrier: Embody the company's philosophy.  You must lead with empathy and encouragement-never abrasive or brash-to mirror the supportive environment we provide our customers.
  • Mentorship: Act as a coach to field leaders, developing their business acumen while holding them strictly accountable      to performance standards and to coaching/developing their own team members as well.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • Multi-Unit Experience: 7+ years of progressive leadership (Sr. Director or VP Operations) in a multi-unit, corporate-owned environment.
  • The Growth Arc: Proven track record of taking a business from a small footprint (e.g., 5-10 units) through a significant scaling event (30+ units). You understand the growing pains of mid-stage expansion.
  • Family/Kids Sector Expertise (Preferred):      Experience in early childhood education, youth sports, enrichment (swim, karate, tutoring), or family-centric hospitality. You understand the  "aspect of having both the parent and the child as your customer.
  • A Roll-Up-Your-Sleeves Mentality: This is not an ivory tower role. You are comfortable spending most of your time in the units, auditing the experience, and working alongside GM's when necessary.
  • Analytical Prowess: You are an operational numbers person who uses data to tell a story and drive operational change.
  • Mission-Driven: A genuine passion for what we do - you are motivated by a big exit and an Incentive Plan but also highly fueled by the impact we have on customers.

Requirements

  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Greater DMV area.
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or equivalent experience is optional.
  • Exceptional communication skills-able to navigate a PE Boardroom and the unit-level floor with equal ease.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, such as keyboards, phone, and printers.
  • Ability to read documents, spreadsheets, and computer screens for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, bend, reach, and lift office supplies or materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively via phone, email, and in person.

The company is an equal opportunity employer, drug-free workplace, and complies with ADA regulations as applicable.
