Status: Part-time (1 Section / Period 7)

Effective Date: 2026-2027 School Year

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic educator or industry professional to spearhead the evolution of our Robotics program. This role offers the unique opportunity to bridge the gap between a long-standing FIRST Robotics extracurricular legacy and a formalized, two-course Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway.

The successful candidate will launch the first course of this pathway during the 2026-2027 school year, utilizing dedicated grant funding to design a premier student experience.


Credential Requirements

Applicants must hold (or be eligible for) one of the following California credentials:

  • CTE Specialized Secondary: Engineering & Architecture OR Manufacturing & Product Development.
  • Single Subject: Physics OR Mathematics (pending administrative verification).

Key Responsibilities

  • Pathway Development: Lead the implementation of a new two-course CTE Robotics sequence, beginning with one section held during "Period 7" (post-school day).
  • Program Leadership: Transition and manage the existing, high-profile extracurricular robotics team.
  • Curriculum Design: Exercise professional autonomy to determine the program's competitive directioneither continuing with FIRST Robotics competitions or pivoting to equivalent high-level, project-based learning (PBL) experiences.
  • Recruitment & Growth: Actively build program enrollment through school-sponsored events, community outreach, and student recruitment initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Strategically leverage allocated grant funds to procure equipment, technology, and materials necessary for a modern robotics lab.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Strong background in robotics, mechatronics, or engineering.
  • Experience with FIRST Robotics or similar competitive platforms is highly preferred.
  • A "builder" mindset with the ability to market a new program to a diverse student body.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to mentor students in a hands-on, lab-based environment.
