Our client,ย Beyond Disabilities is seeking a responsible, organized, and experienced Day Services Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Day Services program. This position serves as the first line of supervision for Direct Support Professionals and plays a key role in ensuring quality services, regulatory compliance, proper staffing, accurate documentation, and person-centered support for individuals receiving services.

The ideal candidate will have strong supervisory skills, experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, mental health, or other disabilities, and a working knowledge of Virginia Waiver regulations, DMAS, DBHDS, and person-centered service requirements.

Job Description

The Day Services Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Supervising the day-to-day operations of the Day Services program.
  • Reviewing staff schedules and ensuring proper coverage for participants.
  • Providing first-line on-call coverage and working shifts when necessary.
  • Supervising, training, directing, and supporting Direct Support Professionals.
  • Reviewing progress notes, support logs, data, training records, and other documentation to ensure compliance with each individualโ€™s ISP.
  • Completing monthly individual record reviews.
  • Ensuring implementation of Individual Service Plans under the direction of the Program Director.
  • Submitting billing information to the Director/designee in a timely manner.
  • Conducting weekly staff observations in the community for each participant.
  • Providing monthly supervision for direct care staff.
  • Overseeing petty cash and participant funds.
  • Conducting staff performance evaluations in accordance with agency policy.
  • Preparing weekly written status reports regarding participants and staff.
  • Completing serious incident reports, CHRIS reports, and participating in investigations and audits as required.
  • Attending ISP meetings and other required meetings.
  • Communicating with individuals, families, legal guardians, substitute decision makers, and other representatives.
  • Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and related support services.
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning principles.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Support principles and practices.
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze findings, and recommend solutions.
  • Investigative and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with individuals, families, community partners, and staff.
  • Experience completing comprehensive assessment tools.
  • Knowledge of Virginia Waiver regulations.
  • A caring, respectful, and positive attitude toward individuals served.

Education and Experience Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • At least an associateโ€™s degree in human services or a related field; and
  • At least five years of experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, mental health, or other disabilities; and
  • At least two years of supervisory experience.

This position may require the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, balance, or climb as needed.
  • Use hands and arms for typing, handling, reaching, and related tasks.
  • Hear with or without the assistance of a hearing aid.
  • Frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Assist with intermittent physical activity, including lifting and supporting individuals served.
  • Work in environments where exposure to viruses, disease, infection, or traumatic situations may occur.
  • Work at any assigned facility and provide reliable transportation.

  • Maintain a valid driverโ€™s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Maintain required automobile liability insurance of 100/300/100.
  • Successfully complete criminal history and Central Registry background investigations.

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM โ€“ 4:30 PM
  • Onsite position
