The Program Coordinator will work with the graduate and professional schools at Duke University to ensure that the University meets legal obligations and responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and additional disability-related laws and ordinances. The Program Coordinator will timely and effectively assess and determine the need for disability-related accommodations for graduate and professional students. This includes evaluating appropriate medical documentation, meeting with students individually to discuss their limitations in the academic setting and identifying appropriate accommodations, collaborating with faculty, staff, and relevant campus departments to implement accommodations effectively. Through an interactive process, the Program Coordinator will determine appropriate provisions of auxiliary aids and services, as well as accommodations in the classroom, testing environment, campus housing, dining services, parking and transportation, and additional support services as needed.
What You'll DoWork requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
ExperienceWork requires one year of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events. Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $45,661.00 to USD $73,140.00.
