Job description

First Choice Health Centers is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Courier/Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe and timely transport of medical supplies, mail, and equipment between our facilities, as well as coordinating purchasing and stock management for office, PPE, and housekeeping supplies. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working across multiple sites.

  • The hourly budgeted pay range for this position is $18.00/hour to $22.00/hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, certifications, etc.

Work Schedule (30 hours per week):

Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Friday 8:30 am to 3:00 pm

Education Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record โ€” candidate will operate a company-owned vehicle and be added to the company motor vehicle insurance policy.
  • Responsible and punctual with the ability to manage multiple tasks and routes independently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Comfortable working across multiple facility locations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Standard Job Duties:

Driving & Vehicle Management

  • Operate and maintain a company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Conduct daily multi-site courier runs between facility locations.
  • Pick up and deliver orders from BJ's Wholesale Club as needed.
  • Assist with transporting the Dental Bus Driver when vehicle maintenance is required.

Mail & Package Handling

  • Daily pick-up, sorting, and distribution of U.S. Postal Service mail across all sites, with end-of-day mail drop-off.
  • Delivery of interoffice mail and IT-related equipment (e.g., cables, toner) between locations.
  • UPS and FedEx drop-offs.
  • Oversee postage machine maintenance, including ink refills, cash reloading, and system updates.

Banking & Cash Management

  • Perform bank deposits three times per week, including pick-up from each site location on Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • Request small denomination currency from the bank as needed to ensure proper cash flow at site locations.

Medical Supply & Equipment Logistics

  • Deliver medical supplies between sites (e.g., COVID/RSV testing supplies stored at 94 CT Blvd, East Hartford).
  • Deliver PPE supplies (gloves, gowns, wipes, etc.) requested by supervisors via the service ticket portal.
  • Pick up and deliver podiatry instruments for the Podiatry unit, including Community Days.
  • Coordinate approved medical equipment relocation between sites, as authorized.
  • Transport medications between sites for med rooms, as needed.
  • As needed, transport end-user prescriptions that will be dispensed or administered to patients at site locations.
  • Facilitate vaccine movement between sites or transfer to outside organizations.

Purchasing & Supply Management

  • Responsible for purchasing office supplies, PPE, and housekeeping supplies.
  • Oversee central supply ordering and stock management, including distribution of housekeeping supplies.
  • Assist with moving and relocating items among office sites as needed.

General Support

  • Assist with setup and transport of items for company-related events.
