Job description

Position Overview

The Podiatrist will provide comprehensive outpatient podiatric services at Fort Yuma Health Care Center (FYHCC) in Winterhaven, California. The selected provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of foot and ankle conditions while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with accepted clinical standards and best practices.

Facility: Fort Yuma Health Care Center (FYHCC)

Location: Winterhaven, California

Practice Setting: Outpatient Clinic

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday

  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Pacific Time)

  • No weekends or Federal holidays unless otherwise authorized.

Compensation

$125 per hour

Malpractice coverage $1M/$3M with tail coverage included. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with foot and ankle disorders.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.

  • Perform podiatric procedures within the scope of practice, including wound care, nail care, debridement, injections, and other minor surgical procedures.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging as clinically appropriate.

  • Prescribe medications, orthotics, and other conservative treatment options.

  • Educate patients on foot health, diabetic foot care, injury prevention, and treatment plans.

  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers when necessary.

  • Document patient encounters accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

  • Maintain compliance with all facility policies, quality standards, and patient safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited college of podiatric medicine.

  • Active, unrestricted license to practice Podiatric Medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.

  • Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience as a practicing Podiatrist.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Experience utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required credentialing, clinical privileges, security requirements, and onboarding approvals.
