Why we want you
CarlsonSV is a growing firm providing various assurance, tax, accounting, and advisory services to clients in the Midwest and beyond. We are looking for a strategic, people-focused, and operationally strong Firm Administrator to help lead the continued success and growth of our firm. This role is both strategic and hands-on, providing leadership across the firm's physical, human, intangible, and financial assets while helping ensure our teams have the structure, systems, and support they need to do their best work.
As a member of the Firm Leadership Team, you will play a key role in organizational health, culture, strategic plan execution, operational decision-making, budgeting, and the integration of core administrative functions. You will help champion a high-performing, collaborative culture and support the systems, people, and processes that allow the firm to grow in a sustainable and thoughtful way.
You want to join us
If you are looking for a leadership role where your work has a direct impact on people, processes, culture, and long-term firm success, this may be the opportunity for you. At CarlsonSV, you will work closely with firm leaders, department heads, and team members to turn strategy into action and create practical solutions that improve how the organization operates.
You will be energized by the variety in this role, with the opportunity to lead across firm administration, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, learning and development, facilities, and risk management. You will help guide projects, strengthen systems, support growth initiatives, and ensure the firm continues to operate with excellence, consistency, and care.
If you enjoy strategic leadership, hands-on execution, collaboration, and building systems that help people and organizations succeed, you may want to join us.
You are the right fit if
You are a proven leader who can balance strategic thinking with strong execution. You are highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing people, priorities, projects, budgets, systems, and competing needs in a professional services environment.
You may be a strong fit for this role if you:
  • Have strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and people management skills.
  • Can analyze complex information, assess risk, make sound decisions, and help the organization move forward.
  • Have strong communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Are comfortable leading multiple projects while adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Understand organizational development, personnel management, budgeting, compliance, employment law, crisis management, and internal business systems.
  • Are proficient with technology and committed to using systems and software to improve efficiency.
  • Bring credibility, integrity, discretion, and a team-first approach to your work.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience supervising and managing personnel.
  • Experience in a professional services environment, preferably a CPA firm.

What type of work you would do
In this role, you would provide the leadership, management, and vision needed to ensure the firm has strong operational controls, administrative procedures, reporting practices, and people systems in place to support strategic and sustainable growth.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Partner with the Leadership Team to execute the firm's strategic plan, support organizational growth, and drive operational excellence across the business.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for Human Resources, Information Technology, Firm Accounting, Marketing, and Learning & Development, ensuring each area is aligned with firm goals and operating effectively.
  • Lead the firm's financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, billing, payroll, key performance metrics, and resource planning to support informed decision-making.
  • Champion a positive and high-performing culture through talent development, employee engagement, recruiting, training, performance management, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements, technology initiatives, and operational efficiencies that enhance productivity, scalability, and the employee and client experience.
  • Oversee facilities, risk management, compliance, insurance programs, information security, and business continuity efforts to protect and strengthen the firm.
