Associated Fire Protection is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience installing, maintaining, repairing, testing, fire protection sprinkler systems and equipment, with the ability to work in both NJ and NYC locations.

General Description:

Supports the company by performing installations, testing, repair, inspection and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment.


Essential Functions- including but not limited to:

  • Perform installation, testing, repair, inspections, and maintenance on fire suppression systems and equipment in compliance with fire safety codes.
  • Ensure systems are functioning correctly and address any issues that arise.
  • Ensure that all systems meet local and national fire safety regulations.
  • Complete inspection reports and repair work orders via mobile device and submit them on a timely basis.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Pull materials for jobs as required.
  • Maintain truck inventory when applicable.
  • Communicate with customers review work and answer any service, quality or technical questions.
  • Other job specific functions may be required depending on level.
  • Serve on the on-call emergency service rotation.

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience and Education- including but not limited to:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Experience working on fire protection systems and equipment is required.
  • NICET certifications preferred.
  • S12-S13 preferred and will be required.
  • OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Must be able to obtain any licenses or certifications as required in the area that you are working.
  • Perform simple tasks independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer, phone and tablet literate.
  • Well organized, self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
  • Must be able to drive to and from jobs and have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job. Qualified candidates must be able to respond to NY emergency service calls.
