Senior Software Engineer Risk Team (.NET/C#, Azure)

Overview
Seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions supporting fraud detection, risk scoring, and compliance automation. This is a highly visible role requiring strong technical leadership, architecture influence, and collaboration with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using .NET/C# and Azure.
  • Build scalable solutions for fraud detection, transaction monitoring, and compliance workflows.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Security, Data Science, and Engineering teams.
  • Lead technical initiatives focused on reliability, observability, performance, and incident management.
  • Develop automated testing frameworks and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Contribute hands-on to coding, testing, deployment, and production support.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with .NET/C#.
  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
  • Strong Azure cloud experience, including cloud-native development and migrations.
  • Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of OAuth2, multithreading, messaging/queueing, and SQL Server.
  • Strong background in automated testing, TDD, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or similar).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in fintech, fraud prevention, risk management, or compliance platforms.
  • Familiarity with fraud scoring, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience with third-party integrations and secure financial systems.
