What is global trade management software?

Global trade management (GTM) software is a specialized tool that helps companies manage and streamline their international trade operations. It automates and centralizes processes such as compliance with global trade regulations, documentation, customs filing, and logistics tracking. By using GTM software, businesses can reduce manual errors, minimize delays, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize their supply chain for cross-border transactions. This enables companies to efficiently manage the complexities of global trade while reducing costs and mitigating risks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Global Trade Management Software Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Global Trade Management (GTM) Software Specialist, you need a solid understanding of international trade regulations, supply chain processes, and business analytics, often supported by a degree in business, logistics, or a related field. Familiarity with leading GTM platforms like SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, or Amber Road, along with relevant certifications (such as Certified Customs Specialist), is highly valuable.
