About the Role

The QA Lead, Fintech Platform is responsible for establishing and leading quality assurance and testing practices across Zenus fintech platform.

This role focuses on ensuring reliability across APIs, middleware, onboarding workflows, and third-party integrations that power client operations and internal systems. The QA Lead will work cross-functionally with Fintech, IT/Solutions, Product, and Compliance to validate system changes, reduce production issues, and support scalable platform growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines test execution, process definition, and coordination across multiple systems and teams.


Responsibilities & Duties

QA Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and mentor QA and junior engineers supporting testing efforts
  • Define testing strategy, standards, and processes across the fintech platform
  • Establish structured regression testing and release validation practices


Platform & Integration Testing

  • Oversee end-to-end testing across:
    • Middleware and APIs
    • Client onboarding workflows
    • Internal tools and automation systems
    • Third-party platforms (core banking, AML, CRM, payments)
  • Ensure system changes do not negatively impact downstream integrations or workflows


Manual & Automated Testing

  • Design and execute test plans for new features, fixes, and system changes
  • Build and maintain regression test suites (manual initially, with gradual automation)
  • Validate API functionality and data flows across systems


Release & Defect Management

  • Participate in release cycles and ensure readiness before deployment
  • Manage defect tracking, prioritization, and resolution with engineering teams
  • Enforce QA validation as part of the release process


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Fintech, IT/Solutions, Product, and Compliance teams
  • Support validation of workflows impacting regulatory processes and client operations
  • Collaborate with developers to refine testing coverage and acceptance criteria


Quality Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Track KPIs such as:
    • Test coverage
    • Defect leakage
    • Release stability
  • Continuously improve testing processes, documentation, and efficiency


What You Need for This Role

  • 5+ years in QA, software testing, or test engineering
  • Experience leading or mentoring QA or testing teams
  • Strong experience with:
    • API testing
    • Integration and end-to-end workflow testing
  • Familiarity with tools such as:
    • Postman / API testing tools
    • Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar (nice to have)
  • Understanding of:
    • Distributed systems and microservices
    • Data flows between systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills


Preferred Experience

  • Fintech, banking, or payments systems
  • Experience testing systems with multiple third-party integrations
  • Exposure to onboarding, compliance, or transaction workflows
  • Experience working in regulated environments


What Success Looks Like

Within the first 36 months, this role will:

  • Establish a structured QA process across the fintech platform
  • Implement regression testing across core systems and integrations
  • Reduce production issues and integration-related defects
