Job description

Imperial Finish Carpentry LLC is a Tampa-based finish carpentry company focused on precision millwork, custom trim, cabinetry, and architectural details for high-end residential and commercial projects. The team prides itself on craftsmanship, clear communication with clients and trade partners, and a supportive shop-to-site culture that helps talented carpenters grow their careers.

About The Role

We’re hiring a Master Finish Carpenter to lead finish installations across Tampa Bay projects, ensuring flawless trim, molding, cabinetry and stair assemblies. This is a hands-on leader role for a detail-driven professional who takes pride in superior fit-and-finish and can mentor junior carpenters while managing on-site quality and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute high-end finish carpentry installations including crown molding, base, casings, custom cabinetry, built-ins, stair treads/rails and architectural millwork.
  • Interpret blueprints, shop drawings and field dimensions to lay out work accurately and ensure precise fits.
  • Perform complex ripping, scribing, copes, mitering and seamless transitions between materials and assemblies.
  • Operate hand and power tools (routers, shapers, table saws, planers, jointers, finish nailers) and maintain shop equipment and hand tools in top condition.
  • Provide on-site problem solving, work with project managers and subcontractors, and adjust details to meet design intent and schedule demands.
  • Inspect and sign off on completed work for quality control; ensure surfaces are ready for finish painters or installers.
  • Train and mentor apprentices and journeymen, set expectations for craftsmanship, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites and follow safe work practices to protect team members and clients’ properties.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–8 years of finish carpentry or millwork experience, with a portfolio or photos demonstrating high-quality trim, cabinetry, and stair work.
  • Proven ability to lead small field crews and coordinate with project managers, painters, and other trades.
  • Strong measuring, layout, and joinery skills; comfort reading construction plans and shop drawings.
  • Expertise with finish-grade materials: hardwoods, MDF, finger-jointed trim, veneers, adhesives and fasteners.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites across Tampa Bay and a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the discipline to deliver consistent, high-quality results on schedule.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a mill/shop environment as well as field installation.
  • Ability to read and create basic shop drawings and cut lists.
  • Leadership qualities: clear communicator, dependable, organized, and comfortable mentoring others.

What We Offer

Work on quality residential and commercial projects across Tampa FL with a skilled, supportive team. Competitive pay, opportunities for career growth and hands-on mentorship, a steady project pipeline, and a culture that values craftsmanship and clear communication.

If you’re a meticulous, solution-oriented finish carpenter who enjoys leading by example and delivering standout millwork, Imperial Finish Carpentry offers the chance to build exceptional work and grow your craft in the Tampa Bay market.
