Job description

Purpose
NEP Group is seeking a general carpenter for a wide range of construction and repair projects at NEP's Systems Integration location located in Harmar, PA.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of woodworking and carpentry in building and repairing consoles, cabinets, countertops, framing and any other furnishings found inside the mobile production units.
  • Work from blueprints and instructions from design engineers to layout, measure, mark, and arrange material. Cut, shape and join wood, plastic, fiberglass, or other materials using supplied hand and power tools.
  • Check work for accuracy and quality.
  • Work in coordination with other construction and maintenance personnel (mechanical and electrical) to keep projects on schedule.
  • Observe safety precautions in the wood shop and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Plan for projects in advance by ordering materials and managing all projects and tasks effectively and performing them efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory of materials, tools and associated fabrication products at the facility.
  • Occasionally assist construction crew with drywall, ceilings, flooring, tile, hardware, masonry and woodworking.

Position Requirements
  • Two-year degree or accredited apprenticeship program required.
  • 2 years demonstrated experience working in a variety of carpentry applications.
  • A thorough knowledge of carpentry materials and tools.
  • Must be highly safety conscious.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and interface and communicate well with supervisor, equipment operators, and facility staff.
