Maintenance - Carpenter
Conway Public School District 


Qualifications:
  1. High school or general education diploma 
  2. Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds or more 
  3. Ability to climb all ladder sizes
  4. Ability to do routine walking, bending, and carrying of heavy items
  5. Experience in building maintenance and construction
  6. Basic knowledge of all building systems 

Reports to:
Maintenance supervisor
Supervises:
Not applicable
Terms of Employment:
The contract length will be 240 days.
Evaluation:
Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the maintenance supervisor. 
Job Goal:
The Maintenance - Carpenter will endeavor to maintain the school facilities and grounds.  The Maintenance - Carpenter will establish a knowledge of maintaining building systems and grounds to provide a safe and pleasant learning environment for all students and staff. 
Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
  2. Maintains facilities building systems, to include:
    1. Roof inspection and repair.
    2. Door hardware inspection and repair.
    3. Inspection and repair of floor coverings.
    4. Rough and finish carpentry.
    5. Construction and installation of millwork.
    6. Forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete.
    7. Operating of construction equipment and hand tools.
    8. Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance
    9. Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
  3. Maintains and uses the District work order system and District forms.
  4. Follows all Material Safety Data Sheet directions on all chemical products used by the Conway Public School District; uses proper labeling and follows all safety procedures. 
  5. Willing to assist with other assignments given by the maintenance supervisor.
  6. Ability to work and communicate with other Conway Public School District personnel and students.   
  7. Other duties, as assigned.
