Job description

OBJECTIVE:
Controls cash, cash equivalents and gaming instruments by receiving and disbursing funds and balancing all internal banks. Works main cage, parlor 32, redemption, jackpot, fill bank and staff cage windows in an efficient and timely manner. Demonstrates outstanding service qualities for both staff and players.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a narrow confined environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Always be Barona NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave and greeting.
  2. Develops player relations by listening and responding to player requests, inquiries, and disputes in a positive manner; Maintains knowledge of current promotions, events, and other pertinent information regarding the property. Delivers fast, friendly and accurate service and meets the needs of players each and every time.
  3. Understands and supports the achievement of property-wide focus goals. Works with other departments' staff members to provide an outstanding experience for players.
  4. Communicates with players, staff and managers by participating in meetings and utilizing various types of verbal and hand written correspondence.
  5. Conducts transactions with players, including checks, chips, vouchers, coin, comps, coupons and currency. Enrolls players in check cashing services, processes credit and debit advances, processes deposits and withdrawals, issues and redeems markers, and conducts other transactions as required.
  6. Conducts operational transactions with other casino departments, including jackpots, slot and outlet bank issuance and turn-in, cage checks, paid in and outs, chip fills and credits. Completes buy exchanges and chip and cash transfers as required.
  7. Maintains security of assigned assets by; verifying currency, locking funds, rotating funds, ensuing authenticity of currency and chips received, following key control policies, transporting funds and controlling access to Cage areas.
  8. Counts in and out of assigned workstation in a timely manner; Completes reports and logs as required. Records cash and check transactions as required by Title 31, obtaining necessary documentation when required. Reconciles scanned vouchers at end of shift.
  9. Maintains technical and professional knowledge by; participating in required departmental cross-training, and participating in outside educational programs or opportunities as required by the position.
  10. Understands, complies with and maintains knowledge of current policies, procedures, regulations, controls and modifications as they occur. Reports and supports safety issues. Recommends process improvements. Utilizes company assets effectively and reduces waste.
  11. Ensures a friendly and professional demeanor, attitude and appearance, and sets a good example for others. Adapts and responds positively to changing job demands, work environment, and business practices; is supportive of other team-members, management, company and department objectives, policies and procedures. Prioritizes workload, asks questions and seeks assistance when necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic math, basic computer knowledge, customer service, and oral communication skills
Ability to operate 10-key adding machine
Lift up to 25 pounds
Follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED
Some College preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Prior cash handling experience preferred
Prior customer service experience preferred
