The University of South Alabama's department of Health, Kinesiology, and Sport is seeking to hire a Secretary V. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
  • Performs responsible departmental secretarial duties as assigned by the department chair.
  • Assists with administrative tasks necessary to support departmental functions.
  • Answers department telephone and emails.
  • Greets and routes students and visitors to appropriate faculty and staff.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office, Google Tools, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Banner Finance and Student Records System to access departmental and student information as needed.
  • Enters faculty load and compensation (FLAC) information for part-time faculty.
  • Prepares part-time faculty appointment letters.
  • Prepares faculty load reports.
  • Creates class schedules in Banner and prepares and submits schedule maintenance forms and curriculum action forms.
  • Uses Concur to document/allocate faculty travel and process invoices.
  • Enters purchase requisitions and assists with textbook orders.
  • Reviews budgets and keeps Chair updated.
  • Maintains department files and databases.
  • Makes arrangements for departmental and program meetings.
  • Takes minutes at meetings as assigned by chair.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
  • Related duties as required.
