Job Description

ProSidian Seeks a Financial Literacy Instructor (Contract Contingent) in Charlotte, NC / Remote to support an engagement for agency of the United States government responsible for consumer protection in the financial sector .

The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to develop and implement a strategy and initiatives to educate, empower, and equip consumers to make better informed financial decisions.

Financial Literacy Instructor Candidates shall work to support requirements for PR0001 Monitoring, Evaluation, And Learning (MEL) Support and will educate and instruct groups of organizations and individuals to be better prepared and equipped in order to make informed financial decisions and enhance their financial well-being. The Financial Literacy Instructor will tailor each training session towards the group being educated, whether college students, elders, or businesses in order to ensure the most effective source of financial education and training available. The Financial Literacy Instructor will work with the Curriculum Developer to refine older materials and tools as well as develop and create newer, more effective tools and materials to better serve the participants of the training sessions. Additionally, the Financial Literacy Instructor will empower each participant of the training session to make the best financial decisions for their goals and lifestyles.

The Financial Literacy Instructor is responsible for the effective training and financial education for all participants and groups attending the training sessions, which will include between 20 and 100 participants for each in-person training session. The Financial Literacy Instructor is responsible for learning about and understanding any Government-furnished tools and materials, including the "Your Money, Your Goals" suite of finncial empowerment materials, as well as working with the Curriculum Developer to create and design new tools and materials for training sessions. Additionally, the Financial Literacy Instructor is responsible for narrowly tailoring messaging materials and tools in order to gear them towards specific groups of participants, including, but not limited to, younger audiences and the elderly, in order to furnish more effective and understandable financial literacy for each participant group. The Financial Literacy Instructor is also reposnible for assisting the Curriculum Developer in analyzing and evaluating the lesson plan for each training session and implementation methods used in order to determine the best methods to use. The Financial Literacy Instructor will be responsible for adhering to Section 504 and Section 508 disabilities and must understand how to educate those needing special assistance.

Qualifications

The Financial Literacy Instructor shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past four (4) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Power point) and related tools and technology required for the position.  Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:  Bachelor's degree or  equivalent from an accredited college or university in a relevant field with at least 4 years of experience with demonstrated understanding of program management, education, mathematics, financial literacy and/or planning, and organization of large conferences or training sessions. Bilingual candidates strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred in a relevant field or related subject.
  • Certificate to teach in the state of North Carolina is required.
  • At least 4 years of experience providing communication, education, and knowledge management expertise, preferably with a background in mathematics or financial literacy training.
  • Experience working with people of different socio-economic backgrounds and education levels preferred.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and written reports summarizing data collected.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team.
  • Candidate must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to propose possible resolutions to complex managerial or operational problems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in knowledge management.
  • Demonstrated proactivity, attention to detail, working within deadlines, and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, English verbal, written, editing, research, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
