Job Title:
Financial Analyst, OCSE
Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $90,000 to $125,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in a wide range of FP&A activities and data-driven analytics that support OC Sports & Entertainment. This position will play a significant role in the timely delivery and presentation of the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and monthly reporting and variance analysis. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Create, manage, and maintain complex financial planning models to support the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-term planning
  • Analyze actual results against budget and forecast, research variances, and communicate findings
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for leadership and business operators
  • Collaborate with leadership and operators to align financial plans with operational goals
  • Work with large data sets to answer critical questions and provide insights through key performance indicators
  • Engage in ad hoc analysis to support business decision-making and strategic planning
  • Assist in storytelling by preparing presentations and dashboards in support of executive meetings, monthly and quarterly business reviews, and various strategic and analytics projects
  • Drive process improvements and automation of financial reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3+ years of finance or accounting experience required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions; experience with Power BI strongly preferred
  • Proven record of discreetly handling sensitive and proprietary information
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Customer service mindset when supporting internal needs and communicating with external parties
  • Able to work effectively under pressure, balance multiple priorities and assignments, learn independently, and work toward deadlines
  • Able to manipulate large quantities of data to build financial models and reporting packages
