Who We Are and Why Work at SpeedPro SW Portland
At SpeedPro SW Portland, we create visual experiences that have big impact. How? We help businesses bring ideas to life by creating visual content that makes life more fun and marketing more impactful. We give our clients the power to truly engage their customers. We're the ones behind that fleet of trucks you see everywhere, and we're also the ones that design, produce, and install the wall and floor murals you see at businesses, universities, and sports arenas across the U.S. We specialize in large-format graphics that give our customers the wow-factor their business needed.
At SpeedPro SW Portland, we are a small team that works with energy, passion, and professionalism. We're backed by a culture of innovations and entrepreneurship, and we're looking for exceptional talent to join us.
The Production Manager reports directly to the SpeedPro SW Portland studio owner and is primarily responsible for producing various wide-format specialty printed products. This position plays a critical role in the franchise's profit and margin potential through outstanding performance in fast turn-around times, high-quality product output, and efficiency with materials to minimize waste.
The Role: What You'll Be Doing
As our PM, you are the primary driver of our manufacturing output, transforming creative concepts into high-quality printed graphics like murals, banners, window graphics, and vehicle/fleet wraps. Your time will be focused on:
Print Production & Equipment Maintenance:
You will take full ownership of the printing and production process, operating and maintaining large-format printers, laminators, and plotters to ensure optimal performance. You'll also manage inventory and perform quality assurance to turn satisfied clients into thrilled clients.
Pre-Press & File Management:
You'll review customer files for print readiness, create digital proofs, and optimize files specifically for large-format and vehicle graphics to reduce waste.
Project Operations:
Using CoreBridge software, you'll track job progress and collaborate with the sales team or studio owner on project requirements prior to production.
Fulfillment & Installation:
You'll handle the final stages, including packing, labeling, shipping, and performing light graphic installations or site measurements as necessary.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Flexibility to assist as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Who You Are
We are looking for a self-motivated professional who takes personal pride and responsibility for their work. To be successful, you should demonstrate:
Technical Expertise: 1-3 years of experience (2+ years ideally) with large-format production equipment and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellence & Timeliness: A commitment to "on time, every time" delivery and a high degree of accuracy to minimize reprints.
Self-Management: The ability to minimize personal distractions and independently prioritize a heavy workload with minimal oversight, especially when navigating competing deadlines.
Interpersonal Strength: A "get-it-done" attitude and a willingness to engage in two-way feedback to improve studio processes.
Ideal candidates will also possess:
  • 2+ years of designing/working with vehicle graphics and templates
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in graphic design (or similar program, or an equivalent amount of experience)

Physical & Special Requirements
This is a hands-on role in a printing production environment. Candidates must be able to:
Stand for extended periods on a concrete floor.
Repeatedly lift media rolls weighing approximately 50 lbs.
Climb ladders and perform on-site installations.
Possess a valid driver's license for occasional travel for site surveys.
SpeedPro SW Portland is an equal opportunity employer. We adhere to clear employee policies and value a diverse, harmonious workforce.
Compensation: $24.00 - $32.50 per hour
Working at SpeedPro and in the large-format printing industry, gives you a chance to be creative. You will be hands-on, in the field, solving problems and meeting clients to make custom solutions every day. As a national brand, specializing in a variety of printed products, SpeedPro takes great pride in partnering with our long-term, satisfied clients. Our goal is to be considered an extension of each client's marketing team, and we collaborate with partners to determine the right solution for you and your business's end customer.
At SpeedPro, we value the relationship between our clients and their customers and deliver quality work on time, every time. With a nationwide network of more than 130 studios, the same standard for excellence in printing, timeliness, and customer service is guaranteed. This is why we have an exceptional net promoter score with our clients of 96.
Working at an independently owned and operated SpeedPro studio sets you up for a bright future. Studio employees experience a fast-paced work environment with new challenges and rewarding opportunities every day. If you are looking for a monotonous desk job, this is not the right job for you.
