Job description

The Runner / File Clerk plays a key role in maintaining organized records, supporting daily office functions, and handling time-sensitive deliveries and pickups. This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic legal environment.


File Clerk Duties

  • Create, organize, and maintain physical and electronic client files.
  • Scan, copy, and upload documents into the firm’s case management or document management system.
  • Ensure all documents are filed accurately and in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Assist with pulling files for attorneys and staff as needed.
  • Maintain file room organization and adhere to retention policies.

Runner Duties

  • Deliver and pick up documents, recordings, mail, and packages from courthouses, title companies, banks, and other locations.
  • Complete time-sensitive filings or recordings with county offices or registries.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, stamping, and distributing.
  • Run office-related errands as requested.

General Administrative Support

  • Assist with office supply inventory and restocking.
  • Support receptionist or administrative staff as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous office tasks that contribute to efficient firm operations.
