Each call is different; the skill set you need for these positions varies depending on the industry in which you work.

What does a field service engineer do?

A Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer sites. To thrive as a Field Service Engineer, you need strong technical knowledge in electronics or mechanical systems, troubleshooting skills, and typically a relevant engineering degree or certification. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and industry-specific equipment is crucial for effective on-site repairs and installations.
