Join our passionate team of adventure travel professionals and make a tangible impact on our mission to connect people with nature and inspire conservation through travel.

Responsibilities

The Senior Field Operations Manager oversees field operations within the US National Parks portfolio, ensuring trips operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Nat Hab standards from planning through post-season wrap-up. This role serves as a key operational leader supporting field teams, logistics coordination, training initiatives, and real-time operational problem solving.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Manage and support regional Field Operations Staff and Fleet Operations.
  • Partner with operational and field leadership teams in staffing, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Identify field team training needs and collaborate on the development and facilitation of seasonal training programs.
  • Foster a positive, solution-focused team culture through clear communication, mentorship, and leadership.

Operations & Logistics

  • Oversee pre-season operational planning, including staffing schedules, vehicle movements, housing logistics, equipment coordination, and trip readiness.
  • Ensure Field Teams receive accurate operational information, trip updates, and logistical support throughout the season.
  • Partner with Trip Owners, Operation Coordinators, Field Operations Coordinators, and Lead Expedition Leaders to ensure operational accuracy across itineraries, schedules, Ops Packs, and field communications.
  • Coordinate emergency response, contingency planning, and operational problem solving during active trips.
  • Provide field-based operational support as needed, including the ability to step into in-field support roles on short notice to ensure successful trip execution.

Communication & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain strong working relationships with field teams, vendors, partners, and cross-functional departments.
  • Support vendor communication, operational feedback processes, and ongoing program improvements throughout the season.
  • Review invoices, oversee seasonal wrap-up logistics, and lead post-season debriefs to improve future operations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Highly skilled in field operations, logistics, and data management within dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Proven success leading multiple project teams through technological and process improvements while facilitating best practice sharing across departments.
  • Extensive experience overseeing all aspects of Field Staff training, including planning, facilitation, budgeting, and post-training evaluation.
  • Strong ability to identify field team training needs, develop annual training plans and budgets, and present recommendations to Expedition Leader development teams and Regional Heads.
  • Demonstrated leadership (7+ years preferred) managing geographically dispersed teams, including hiring, mentoring, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a consistent solution-focused approach in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
  • Experience coordinating staffing, transportation, housing, equipment logistics, vendor partnerships, and operational support throughout full program lifecycles.
  • Financial and administrative experience including budget support, invoice review, expense tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Adaptable and resilient leadership with the ability to support field teams remotely and in person while managing evolving operational challenges and priorities.

Compensation

Starting salary range: $83,000-85,000, plus annual bonus.
