The Shared Services Engineering – Authorization team is seeking a hands‑on Director to lead and execute the modernization of the authorization platform into cloud‑native solutions, with direct accountability for Tier‑0 reliability and 24×7 availability. As Director, Software Engineering within Brokerage Recordkeeping Technology (BRT), you will lead high performing engineering teams and collaborate closely with product and platform partners to deliver a modern, unified authorization framework.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in cloud technologies, product development, and experience leading technical teams in an agile fashion. They will be able to navigate and manage technical complexities while developing secure and scalable solutions for our customers. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence and maintaining continuous availability of mission-critical systems that power our authorization platform.
The Team
This Team is Fidelity’s core authorization team, responsible for building and operating the platform that underpins enterprise security and scalability. As part of Shared Services Engineering, the team modernizes authorization capabilities from mainframe to cloud‑native architectures and delivers secure platforms, and frameworks that enable Fidelity Brokerage Recordkeeping Technology to leverage the public cloud at scale.
The Expertise You Have
Proven expertise leveraging AWS cloud services to architect and deliver production‑grade, cloud‑native systems, with hands‑on experience designing and building containerized applications using Java and Micronaut.
Lead modernization of authorization components, migrating from legacy mainframe implementations to cloud‑native, policy‑driven, and scalable architectures.
Engineering Excellence Champion best practices in system design, development, and operations—emphasizing scalability, compliance, and fault tolerance.
