WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

As a Non-Ferrous Material Handler, you will keep Schupan's recycling operation moving safely and accurately โ€” unloading, sorting, weighing, and processing scrap metal so that every shipment is graded, priced, and recorded correctly. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety directly support our mission of building a more resourceful future.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT

  • Accurately identify and sort various metals; verify inventory of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Ensure all inbound materials are accurately graded and priced; communicate discrepancies with management
  • Obtain and maintain a valid industrial truck license (training provided)
  • Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from industrial equipment, flatbeds, van trailers, or other transport vehicles
  • Adhere to all Schupan safety procedures, regulations, and policies while transporting and delivering materials
  • Perform data entry, tag materials, and organize inventory to maintain accurate records
  • Secure and chock trailers according to company policy prior to loading or unloading
  • Perform daily equipment inspections; promptly report any needed repairs to management or Maintenance
  • Report all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to management immediately
  • Deliver professional and courteous service to customers, employees, and drivers
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Basic requirements:

  • Prior experience in a warehouse, recycling, or similar industrial environment preferred, but not required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to communicate in both verbal and written forms
  • Basic computer literacy (data entry and inventory tracking)
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Physical requirements:

  • Majority of shift spent operating equipment or standing and walking
  • Frequently lifts and moves materials weighing up to 50 lbs.; heavier items with proper tools or assistance
  • Routinely performs repetitive movements including twisting, pushing, and pulling
  • Must be able to enter and exit industrial equipment, including walking up and down stairs
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and outdoor environments

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

  • Pay: $18.50/hr; overtime paid after 40 hours
  • Schedule: 1st Shift, Mondayโ€“Friday
  • Weekly pay
  • PTO and 401(k) with match starting Day 1
