Job description

The MRF Line Lead will oversee all operations activities within the assigned area of the facility. This role is responsible for laborer safety and operational efficiency. This role observes and analyzes the overall efficiency of a specific area or production line to ensure things are moving smoothly as well as report findings to upper management as needed.
Reports to: MRF Manager/Operations Manager
Essential Job Duties:Supports his or her direct leadership by ensuring the following:โ€ข Responsible for overseeing laborer safety including safety training, safety planning, incident reporting, etc. โ€ข Responsible for leading and supervising laborers by providing instructions, evaluating performance and delivering feedbackโ€ข May work with a supervisor or manager to help schedule shifts, plan for call-ins/no shows, and reporting department metrics and performanceโ€ข Respond positively to unpredictable situations or problems that can occur throughout their work responsibilitiesโ€ข Set a motivational tone and establish a high degree of optimism focused on employees in the work environment
Scope of Responsibility:The Line Lead provides day to day leadership for an assigned production area or line, with direct responsibility for laborer safety, work quality, and operational efficiency. This role supervises frontline laborers, supports scheduling and performance tracking, and exercises limited decision making authority to address operational issues, safety concerns, and workflow adjustments. The Line Lead's actions directly impact employee safety, productivity, and overall facility performance.

Education & Experience:โ€ข High school diploma or GED is requiredโ€ข Minimum 3 years of experience as a lead, preferably from the waste management or manufacturing type industry
Physical Demands & Work Environment:โ€ข Regularly lift and carry heavy materials, often up to 50 pounds or more. โ€ข Regularly required to stand for long periods of time. โ€ข Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching to collect garbage. โ€ข Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow. โ€ข High noise levels from trucks and machinery. โ€ข Potential exposure to hazardous materials and unpleasant odors. โ€ข Often required to wear protective gear, such as gloves and safety glasses.
