Job description

The MRF Sorter is responsible for ensuring proper sorting of materials on the conveyor are being removed and placed in corresponding containers.
Reports to:
MRF Supervisor/Site Supervisor
Essential Job Duties:
  • Inspect and sort materials according to size, type and condition
  • Keep work area and all surrounding areas clean
  • Report all unsafe work conditions or equipment issues immediately to supervisor
  • Attend and participate in safety meetings
  • Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Scope of Responsibility:
The MRF Sorter supports daily recycling operations by inspecting and sorting materials on the conveyor line to ensure proper separation and removal of contaminants. This role contributes to maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations by following established procedures, keeping work areas clean, and promptly reporting safety or equipment concerns. The position does not supervise employees but plays an important role in supporting overall material processing and operational workflow within the facility.
