Job description

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is seeking a Fee Basis Ophthalmologist to provide high-quality ophthalmology services to Veterans in Cape Coral, Florida. This contracted position offers flexibility while allowing you to serve those who served in a mission-driven federal healthcare environment.

Position Overview

The Fee Basis Ophthalmologist will provide comprehensive outpatient ophthalmologic care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of eye conditions. Services are provided on a contracted (fee-for-service) basis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations
  • Diagnose and manage medical ophthalmic conditions
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative evaluations as appropriate
  • Perform in-office ophthalmologic procedures within scope of practice
  • Ensure timely documentation in accordance with VA standards
  • Collaborate with VA clinical teams to coordinate Veteran care
