Job Summary/CompanySparks Group has partnered with an innovative aerospace and technology organization seeking a Federal Sales Director to drive strategic business development efforts across the U.S. Federal Government. This is a high-impact individual contributor role responsible for developing and closing complex federal opportunities while managing long-term customer relationships within the defense, intelligence, homeland security, and federal contractor communities. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of selling advanced technology, data, analytics, intelligence, or mission-focused solutions into federal agencies and thrives in a consultative, relationship-driven sales environment
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute territory strategies to drive new business growth and achieve revenue objectives across assigned federal accounts.
  • Own the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, opportunity qualification, account planning, proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across U.S. Government agencies, federal systems integrators, and strategic industry partners.
  • Identify and shape complex opportunities by understanding customer missions, acquisition strategies, and long-term program objectives.
  • Navigate federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and acquisition pathways to successfully position solutions.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, opportunity forecasts, and account activity within Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, technical teams, and subject matter experts to develop customer-focused solutions and competitive strategies.
  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, classified briefings, industry conferences, and networking events.
  • Participate in pipeline reviews, territory planning, and quarterly business reviews while providing strategic market insights.
  • Develop long-term customer engagement strategies that support sustained revenue growth and expanded market presence.

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance in good standing.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quota-carrying federal sales experience selling technology, data, analytics, intelligence, aerospace, defense, or mission-focused solutions.
  • Demonstrated success developing and closing complex federal opportunities with sales cycles ranging from 6–18 months.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Federal acquisition processes and contracting vehicles, including IDIQs, OTAs, GSA Schedule, SEWP, and related procurement methods.
  • Established network within the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or other federal agencies.
  • Experience building executive-level customer relationships and influencing complex buying decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
