Job description

Local Candidates to the Greater Boston area.


Sourcer, importer and packer of 400+ specialty foods and ingredients distributed to local and national food service and retail companies. The SQF Level 1 plant includes 40,000 sq.ft. of warehouse space and 3 packing lines (jar line, pouch line and pail packing line).

 

Responsibilities:

 

Plan, coordinate, and direct the comprehensive QA program to safeguard product quality and safety.


Maintain SQF program.


Manage the total Quality Control plan, HACCP plan, and SQF program.


Work with existing and new suppliers on approved suppliers’ management plan Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP).


Manage internal documentation.


Plan, prepare and participate in all audits including organic, kosher, customer, FDA, intern audits, and 3rd party.


Maintain product specifications.


Train employees in quality assurance, food safety, and sanitation.


Assist the Sales Department with samples, product specs, R&D.


Contribute to development of new products and processes with a focus on food safety and quality control and labeling.


Assist in operations, inventory management and shipping and the implementation of new processes.


Handle customer relations focused on quality control documentation and customer complaints. 

Qualifications:


BS Science.

3+ years’ work experience, previous SQF practitioner experience.

Certifications: HACCP, PCQI, SQF practitioner, Better Process Control.

Work in a fast-paced environment, be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed.

The plant includes 40,000 SF of warehouse space and 3 packing lines (jar line, pouch line and pail packing line, MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) machines used in packaging olive products.

Schedule: M-F 0730 AM - 4:30 PM.


Base Salary: $95-105K

Annual performance bonus: 10 % based on performance, annual reviews, and overall company success. Profit Sharing Plan: Plan contributes 7.5% of yearly compensation to retirement plan. After each year of enrollment, 20% vested. Fully vested after 5 years. 

Health Insurance: Tufts Advantage HMO 3000 OPC company policy pays 80% individual person health care.

Holidays: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Friday after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
