Job description

The Position
We are seeking a Summer Intern - Mechanical Engineer to support the engineering department with capital projects and other initiatives across the mill. This role provides hands-on exposure to heavy industrial equipment, mechanical systems, and real-world engineering applications in a manufacturing environment.
You will assist engineering team with capital project development and execution, and implementation of engineering procedures.

We use a blend of virgin and recycled fibers (Kraft and OCC pulp) to produce Kraft pulp, paper, containerboard, medium and market pulp. Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with safety and environmental projects throughout the mill.
  • Support capital project development and execution.
  • Support initiatives to improve the engineering department efficiency.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams on special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and mechanical engineering standards.
  • Support updates to mill drawings, layouts, and equipment documentation as needed.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret technical and equipment data.
  • Proficiency in a variety of Office M365 products.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team.
