The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, as a member of the Canfor Southern Supply Chain Team, the Supply Chain Intern will support end‑to‑end supply chain activities in a forestry and manufacturing environment. This role provides hands‑on exposure to production planning, logistics, inventory management, and data‑driven decision‑making at Canfor’s Sales and Marketing Office.


The Supply Chain Intern’s primary focus is to support alignment between mill production, inventory levels, transportation performance, and customer demand. The role works closely with Operations, Logistics, and Sales teams to help ensure products and information move efficiently and cost‑effectively through the system. The intern will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Your role as the Supply Chain Intern:

  • Maintain business processes relating to Available for Sale, Inventory Position, and Order Fulfillment  
  • Collaborate with various departments within the organization to facilitate planning and execution  
  • Contributor to working capital reduction & margin improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain
  • Build and maintain Excel‑based reports, trackers, and basic dashboards for leadership

Required Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in or completed an undergraduate degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, operations, or the forest products industry
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Willingness to learn ERP and planning systems such as SAP or Oracle
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across office‑based and mill‑based teams
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and motivated to learn in a fast‑paced environment
