As of 10/01/2021, the MAPA career ladder has changed and is no longer a GS-7/9/11/12/13. In applying to this position, you will lose the GS-7/9/11/12/13 ladder and will be subject to the new ladder, which is GS-7/9/11, a standalone GS-12, meaning you have to apply and compete for it, and a standalone GS-13, meaning you have to apply and compete for it.
UNIT DESCRIPTION
Supports the mission needs of TD Leadership and the Division through strategy, management, executive support, special projects, strategic communications, and other mission specific support requirements.
KEY REQUIREMENTS

MAJOR DUTIES

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive management team, providing support across organizational programs/initiatives.
• Serve as the division policy officer, providing guidance on the policy revision and facilitating policy progression.
• Provide direct supervision of executive staff, to include performance management, delegation of tasks, and professional development.
• Councils and provides guidance to employees on both work and administrative matters
• Identifies developmental and training needs of subordinate employees and provides or arranges for required training
• Participates in formal and informal executive management sessions, and as appropriate, provides guidance to senior management regarding administrative requirements of the Division; prepares extensive reports and presents briefings to Division and other FBI management

Specialized Experience (SE)
GS-14: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

• Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals and objectives
• Experience with preparing and presenting highly complex material to various levels of personnel
• Knowledge of FBI and division organizational structure, policies and procedures affecting administrative and personnel matters
• Exploring the many facets of a policy issue, exercising sound judgment, and working effectively under the pressure of tight time frames on administrative and personnel matters
• Experience in leading and supervising a group of staff to successfully meet a program's goals and objectives

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Positions with fitness for duty requirements or those that require international travel may require proof of certain vaccinations.
• The selectee will be required to serve a one-year probationary period for initial assignment to a supervisory position.
• Required Leadership Training: All FBI supervisors promoted after January 2022 are required to attend and complete the Training Division's Supervisor Essentials Program within 365 days from initial assignment into a supervisory position. Supervisors will need to complete both the "Mentoring and Coaching" and "Performance Appraisals" courses as part of the Supervisor Essentials program. The Supervisor Essentials course is a pre-requisite for the new Leading People (Virtual) and face-to-face version (VLP) that will be offered beginning the 2nd Quarter of 2022.
• Limited Movement: Policy has been implemented wherein support employees entering a position may be precluded from moving to another position within the Bureau through reassignment or change to a lower grade for a minimum of 12 months. HRD will waive this limited movement policy for qualified employees, who have received an official notification letter that their current position is being relocated due to an organizational restructuring initiative, so those employees can compete for a position elsewhere. Voluntarily leaving a position with a relocation incentive may result in loss of that incentive. Please notate that you have received an official notification letter within your application.
• Probationary employees are precluded from being considered for all job opportunities until 12-months of their 24-month probationary period has concluded.
