Job description

Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Farm Hand to assist with the daily operations of a working livestock and crop farm. The ideal candidate will have experience operating farm equipment, caring for livestock, and performing general farm maintenance. This position requires the ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • General Farm Operations
  • Perform general farm labor and daily operational tasks.
  • Operate, maintain, and clean farm equipment, including tractors, balers, mowers, and other agricultural machinery.
  • Perform and/or coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, tools, and farm facilities.
  • Coordinate and manage the proper use of farm equipment and resources.
  • Maintain farm buildings, grounds, livestock areas, and other facilities to ensure a safe and productive environment.
  • Livestock Care
  • Feed, monitor, and provide general care for cattle and other livestock.
  • Maintain animal pens, fencing, and related facilities.
  • Crop & Hay Production
  • Assist with crop production activities, including ground preparation, planting, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
  • Perform hay production tasks, including cutting, baling, storing, and feeding.
  • Maintain accurate records and review planting, spraying, and harvesting schedules.
  • Property Maintenance
  • Build, repair, and maintain fencing.
  • Mow, trim, spray, and maintain fence lines, pastures, and farm grounds.
  • Perform general groundskeeping, cleanup, and facility repairs.
  • Safely mix, apply, and store agricultural chemicals in accordance with applicable regulations and safety procedures.

Work Environment:

Employees will regularly be exposed to:

  • Dust, pollen, odors, and agricultural chemicals.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Extensive walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, and other physical activities required throughout the workday.

Other Requirements

  • Clean driving record required for operating company vehicles and transporting supplies offsite.
  • Previous farm experience preferred (2+ years).
  • Valid Class C Driver's License preferred.

Benefits: Full-time position with benefits available after 90 days of employment.
