Job description

Summary of Purpose:

Responsible for performing farm maintenance and repair duties while ensuring Willow Hope Farm is maintained in a safe and orderly manner.

Duties (Essential Functions):

Perform general farm maintenance and repairs at Willow Hope Farm location.

  • Complete minor repairs of furniture, fixtures, equipment and property.
  • Assist with building projects.
  • Pick up and unload farm and animal supplies as needed (feed, shavings, hay, fencing materials, etc.).
  • Responsible for maintaining and operating all equipment and vehicles related to Willow Hope Farm, including trucks, trailers, ATV's and tractors. This includes off-site transportation of equines, equipment and/or supplies.
  • Responsible for keeping the grounds and landscaping clean as well as bush hogging pastures and trimming fence lines.

Program safety and communication.

  • Ensure safety regulations and requirements are met regarding building codes, alarm systems and with accreditation/compliance if applicable
  • Adhere to OSHA standards in relation to the proper use of chemicals and equipment involved.
  • Ensure tools, cleaning materials, and supplies are stored in a safe and orderly manner.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 1+ years of previous farm maintenance or handyperson experience preferred.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills preferred.
  • Ability to use farm maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve interior/exterior building repairs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Accept, support, and represent KHS core values, programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record and be willing to drive KHS vehicles.
  • Background Check required.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, walking, and standing regularly while performing job functions.
  • Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 lbs.
