Job Title: Student Worker - Farm Staff - World Hunger Relief
Job Classification: Community Service, Student
Department: Off Campus Community Service
Hiring Manager: Beth Ferguson

Work Schedule: 8-20 hours per week. Daily start times and workdays will be discussed and established based on the applicant's availability and WHR's needs. Typically, these are M-F between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm and possibly Saturdays.
Desired Length of Employment: Fall and Ongoing
Pay Rate: $12.00/hr

  • In a student employee capacity, may assist in working with external community service partners.

Position Summary:
Supports World Hunger Relief's mission of alleviating hunger through sustainable agriculture, education, and research by assisting with the daily operation and maintenance of the farm. Responsibilities include general farm upkeep, mowing, landscaping, basic repairs, maintenance projects, event setup, and other tasks that help keep the farm safe, welcoming, and running smoothly.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for a dependable student who enjoys working outdoors and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. This position is ideal for someone who is motivated, has a positive attitude, and takes pride in completing projects well. We value individuals who are willing to learn new skills, work independently, and contribute to a wide variety of tasks around the farm. Experience with tools, landscaping, maintenance, or farming is helpful but not required.
General Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities may include mowing, weed trimming, general landscaping, painting, basic repairs, construction projects, event setup and teardown, moving materials, cleaning and organizing workspaces, and assisting with other farm maintenance projects as needed. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather and be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds. A willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and commitment to supporting the mission of World Hunger Relief are essential.
