Job Purpose

• The Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance of the plant facility and equipment, ensuring adherence to Hampton Farms’ food quality and safety standards. As a key player in maintaining the production of peanuts and peanut products, the role involves managing preventive maintenance techniques, daily checklists, and repair procedures to mitigate risks and uphold operational efficiency.

General Description

• Collaborate with the Production Manager, Quality Assurance Department, and other team members to support warehouse requirements.
• Partner with the team to deliver exceptional experiences to customers and employees, in alignment with Hampton Farms' mission, vision, and values.

Prerequisites

• 10-20 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair single and three-phase electrical equipment.
• Maintain and enhance process equipment.
• Fabricate metal and perform various welding techniques (stick, MIG, TIG, plasma arc).
• Complete daily tasks using a checklist or schedule.
• Understand, operate, and disassemble equipment as needed per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist in training new maintenance employees.
• Document tasks in the Preventive Maintenance Program and Work Order System.
• Clean, sanitize, and reconcile parts and tools post-maintenance.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures for equipment repairs.
• Communicate maintenance issues related to the facility and grounds.
• Assist colleagues in other areas as needed.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
• Complete GMP Training (New Hire and Annual).
• Adhere to the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Follow Chemical Control Program guidelines.
• Understand and apply SOPs for equipment and facility operations.
• Open and flexible to occasional fluctuating/flexing hours based on business need and customer order shipment scheduling

• Work Environment
• Combination of manufacturing environment along with duties that will require employee to work in a production/plant environment where physical hazards such as industrial equipment and forklifts may be present.

Job Physical Demands

• Continuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break)
• Lifting: Intermediate lifting up to 55 lbs. for up to half your shift (up to 4 hours)
• Climbing: ladders, stairs, etc. --using feet and legs or hands and arms 1/3 of the time
• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands
• Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds by ears
• Depth Perception: Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances
• Color Vision: Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
