Job description

Position Assignment:

  • Title: Faithbridge Residency

  • Staff Grade: Full-time Staff, Exempt, Temporary 32 HPW

  • Ministry/Dept.: Multiple Ministries

Summary of Position: The Faithbridge Residency is a 10-month, hands-on ministry experience to fully equip the next generation to faithfully love Christ, learn the Scriptures, and lead others in ministry. Residents will participate in academic classroom training in Bible and theology in addition to spending 20 hours weekly supporting a Faithbridge ministry area.

Purpose:

1. Go wide and deep through the entire biblical narrative from Genesis to Revelation and understand how to articulate key core doctrines.

2. Fall more in love with Jesus by encountering his deep love for you.

3. Experience hands-on ownership of various aspects of ministry with mentorship, oversight, and feedback from staff directors.

4. Learn to live life with others in a healthy community and church.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain active participation in StoryVerse classes, evidenced by completion of reading assignments and homework, punctual attendance to all class meetings, thoughtful contribution to class discussions, and passing end of semester Stand and Deliver oral exams.

  2. Plan, prep, and execute weekly ministry programming in assigned ministry area role.

  3. Support ministry area and Faithbridge-wide event programming as directed.

  4. Minister to Faithbridgers within ministry area scope through regular contact time.

  5. Partner with full time staff to recruit servers and leaders through our safe screening process.

Skills and Educational Requirements:

  • College degree preferred.

  • Interest in vocational Christian ministry.

  • Experience leading others in a volunteer capacity in a local church or para-church context.

  • Ability to build relationships and initiate discipleship-focused conversations with people in multiple stages of life.

  • Works well with others and has a teamwork mindset.

  • Independent initiative and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, accurately, and in a timely manner, both verbally and in writing through a variety of platforms including face-to-face, phone, virtual conferencing, texting/messaging, and email.

  • Workplace software literacy such as Microsoft Office suite of products.

Organization Relationship:

This position shall be directly accountable to the FSM Lead Director. This position will have contact with church attendees, paid staff, volunteers, ministry partners, and outside vendors.

Working Conditions:

This is a salary and full-time (approximately 32 hours per week) position, with a regular weekly in-person schedule determined by the ministry area supervisor, along with some evening and special event work. Attendance at seasonal ministry kick-off events (Ministry Expo) and large all-Faithbridge campus events will be required, including Christmas Eve and Easter.
