Position SummaryThe Facility Operations Assistant 1 (FOA 1) will provide assistance to various crews within
Facilities, Maintenance & Operations including janitorial, grounds, moving crew, and maintenance and operations. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe, healthy, and inviting learning, living and working environment for our campus community and are part of the Administration & Finance division which provides essential services to our campus, local, state, federal and international customers. We are responsible for human, physical, financial and technical resources. As professionals, we navigate systems in a collaborative and sensitive way to assist the University in achieving its educational mission. The shift for this position is Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:Responsibilities will vary and may include, but not be limited to: Setting up and taking down tables, chairs, podiums and related equipment for meetings or special events carefully and efficiently; Loading, unloading, and moving heavy equipment, supplies, and furniture by physically lifting items or operating a hand truck, forklift or pallet jack using safe lifting practices, and without damage to walls, floors, etc.; Operating self-propelled and motorized equipment, such as lawn mowers, pumps, compressors, vehicles, small trucks, light construction equipment, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and snow removal equipment safely; Performing general grounds maintenance tasks; Performing a variety of routine building maintenance tasks; Cleaning buildings and facilities; Performing office-related activities such as sorting and delivering mail, inventorying and storing records or supplies on shelves. Using appropriate PPE and selecting and safely using the appropriate tools and equipment needed to complete the assigned tasks as well as attending job related training will be required. Required Qualifications: - Must be eligible for appointment to this title pursuant to civil service law
- Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions
- Physically able to perform the tasks of the position including, but not limited to, those in the Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with a variety of individuals
- Valid driver's license and the ability to be LENS cleared to operate state vehicles
Preferred Qualifications: - Prior relatable experience
Salary (Applicant View)$36,232 - $44,828, in accordance with
CSEA Salary Schedule.
