Highlights:
Summary: The Manager, Physician Practices II shall manage the daily operations of an employed physician clinic within the Baptist Health Physician Group. The Manager is responsible for the clinic's operations, personnel management, staff training, ancillary services, financial management, purchasing/inventory, records management, quality improvement, corporate compliance, facility and equipment maintenance, and clinic physician relations. The Manager has functional supervision of all front-office and back-office staff and displays a positive rapport and professionalism with all customers. This individual shall provide leadership and direction in all matters regarding the practice management and to all clinic staff. The Manager will work cooperatively with other Baptist Health departments to share staffing and other resources and to help facilitate efficient operations with other Baptist Health employed physician practices.
Education / Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other health care related field strongly preferred. In lieu of degree, applicable experience of 3-5 years within the Baptist Health System or affiliate, or 5 or more years in the healthcare field outside of Baptist Health, with 2 or more years of management/supervisory experience required. A RN is a plus.
License / Certification: CMPE, CPC, CHE, FACHE, or similar designation preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong ability to manage people, processes, and technology in an ambulatory clinic setting.
- Strong ability to create budgets and then manage to meet budget objectives.
- Knowledge of physician licensure, insurance contracts, coding and billing regulations, and physician compensation plans required.
- Strong leadership and team building skills required.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of TQM, Lean, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to anticipate issues and develop solutions.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of standard patient care equipment encountered in a medical practice.
- Excellent computer literacy sufficient to work in a networked PC environment, utilizing standard business and medical software.
- Strong sense of urgency, the ability to convey that sense of urgency throughout subordinate staff.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Position requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility 70% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 15 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
