Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented ​Fabrication Engineer to support engineering, estimating, production, and project activities within a manufacturing environment. This position will develop detailed shop drawings, bills of material (BOMs), job routings, and cost estimates while supporting production teams with material readiness and schedule tracking.

The ideal candidate will have strong 3D SolidWorks experience, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably within stainless-steel fabrication and sanitary process piping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and understand the scope of RFQ opportunities provided by the sales team.
  • Estimate material and labor costs for fabricated components.
  • Develop detailed proposals and supporting information for Sales Engineers.
  • Create accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) and job routings.
  • Develop cost-effective, high-quality designs, concept drawings, and detailed shop drawings for fabrication.
  • Work closely with the production shop to understand manufacturing best practices and ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Obtain vendor quotations and issue purchase orders for required parts and services.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews of RFQ packages with Sales, Production, and Procurement teams.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings and ensure all stakeholders understand the project scope.
  • Effectively communicate design concepts and ideas to sales teams and customers.
  • Serve as a liaison between the production shop and sales team.
  • Stage materials and verify BOM and job material accuracy for larger job orders.
  • Support production teams with material readiness and schedule tracking.
  • Manage multiple quotes and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Analyze financial and project data to support cost allocation, forecasting, and estimating.
  • Perform other engineering and project-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Basic understanding of job costing principles.
  • Proficiency in 3D SolidWorks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and develop cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly stainless-steel welding and fabrication, preferred.
  • Experience in stainless-steel fabrication and sanitary process piping is highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, quotes, and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
