GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced Extrusion technician in the production of brass rod products in our production facility in Cicero Il. This role will include, but not limited to running the indirect extrusion press, material handling associated with the movement of material throughout the entire facility. All team members will be required to work in all areas of the operation

TYPE OF POSITION
Full Time
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
  • Setup, run and operate a hydraulic indirect extrusion press. Team member will be responsible for all aspects of the process (Loading, Running, Trouble shooting, Maintenance, Tooling, Quality, housekeeping, and safety) related to the manufacturing process.
  • Team members are expected to take initiative and work collaborative across the entire manufacturing process.
  • Perform visual inspections of material and equipment to ensure product quality and equipment reliability.
  • Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with hot metal.
  • Understanding of basic hydraulics.
  • Running a forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Good basic Mathematical skills.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 1 year experience running a hydraulic press, but 3-5 years preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lifting, standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending in fast-paced production facility.
