About the role

We’re hiring Manufacturing Machine Operators to join our growing team in Fuquay-Varina, NC. If you have experience in extrusion manufacturing (plastic extrusion, wire & cable extrusion, profile extrusion, tubing extrusion, or related continuous-process production), we definitely want to hear from you. In this role, you will operate production equipment, support manufacturing processes, and ensure product quality in a clean, safetyfocused environment. This is a fulltime manufacturing role—ideal for handson operators who thrive in extrusion line / production line settings and want longterm career growth.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As an Operator, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality cable products by:

  • Operate manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently
  • Monitor and adjust process settings (speed, temperature, tension, material feed) to support stable extrusion line performance
  • Assist with start-ups, changeovers, and material changes (resin/compound) to meet production schedules
  • Perform in-process measurements and visual inspections; identify common extrusion defects (diameter/OD, surface marks, gels, voids) and escalate as needed
  • Perform quality checks and follow standard work instructions
  • Troubleshoot basic machine issues and report equipment concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Achieve production targets and support team goals
  • Accurately complete production documentation and system entries

  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred, but not required—training provided
  • Prior extrusion experience highly preferred

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% material handling, production assembly machine operations, and/or walking and assisting production employees
  • Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor where noise levels may be moderate or high and hearing protection may have to be worn
  • Eye and foot protection may have to be worn
  • There is potential for lifting weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 45 pounds on an occasional basis
  • There is potential exposure to extreme temperatures
  • The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination
  • May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
