Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled maintenance support to proactively identify and prevent failure points in operations equipment by interpreting operator feedback, understanding machine status indications and functions, and recommending action.
  • Own maintenance and reliability of plant utility systems, including:
  • Industrial HVAC systems
  • Chiller plants and chilled water distribution
  • Cooling towers and water treatment systems
  • Boilers and steam systems
  • Air handling units, exhaust systems, and facility environmental controls
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electromechanical systems, including:
  • Motors, pumps, fans, compressors
  • Control valves, actuators, and instrumentation
  • Electrical components associated with HVAC and utility equipment
  • PLC-controlled or automated utility systems (basic interaction expected)

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on utility systems, including:
  • Equipment inspections and condition monitoring
  • Lubrication, alignment checks, and minor mechanical work
  • Identifying early failure modes and recommending corrective actions

Support plant-wide utilities performance, ensuring:
  • Stable temperature, humidity, and airflow conditions for production
  • Reliable steam, chilled water, and compressed air supply
  • Rapid response to utility-related downtime risks

Assist with maintenance of broader facility systems, including:
  • General building infrastructure
  • Piping systems (steam, condensate, water)
  • Supporting maintenance team efforts during outages or critical repairs

• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Reliability, and Operations to:
  • Identify systemic issues in utilities performance
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) efforts
  • Improve system efficiency and uptime

Support contractors and vendors performing specialized HVAC or utilities work
Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship, and documentation within the CMMS
Qualifications:
  • A two-year technical degree in Industrial Systems or related field focusing on machine maintenance is preferred but not required in lieu of professional experience. Certificates in the utilities field or related skills are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of technical support experience working in an industrial environment, prior experience in extrusion, plastics, and web handling or winding is a plus.
  • Experience and computer skills within a Computerized Maintenance Management System for preventive maintenance work tracking and corrective requests is preferred.
  • Experience and training in pipefitting, sheet metal fabrication and welding are preferred.
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written, and ability to collaborate effectively with team members of varying levels of technical experience.
  • Ability to work overtime or non-regular hours when needed to support 24/7 operations.
  • Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck and Arial Lift Equipment certifications on site.
