KEY OBJECTIVE:                                                                
As a key member of the Financial Lines Claims management team, this position will report to the VP, Financial Lines Claim Leader, and work in collaboration to meet Chubb's core claims objectives and exceed organizational service standards and best practices. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual who will thrive in an exciting and fast-paced environment. Primary responsibilities include leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of claims professionals while fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The Claim Manager will have oversight of Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Employment Practices, Cyber, Transactional Risk, Fidelity, and Fiduciary liability claims. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                         

  • Provide training, coaching, leadership and technical oversight to a team of Financial Lines Claims examiners.
  • Oversee examiner work product and ensure compliance with Best Practices. 
  • Direct professional and career development of staff by way of performance management, salary administration, and learning and development. 
  • Deliver superior customer service; build and support long-lasting business relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Regularly meet with clients to review claims processes and emphasize Chubb Claims difference.
  • Demonstrate understanding of policy information including laws, standards and practices; interpret and apply policy language and address claim issues.
  • Provide assistance to underwriters on claims issues, such as providing claims data, and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage relationships, work product, and expenses of outside vendors, including lawyers, independent adjusters, and other experts.

Les responsabilites principales comprennent la direction, le mentorat et le perfectionnement d'une equipe de professionnels en sinistres hautement performante, tout en favorisant une culture d'inclusion, de collaboration, de responsabilisation et de perfectionnement continu. Le directeur du service des reclamations supervisera les reclamations liees a la responsabilite civile des administrateurs et dirigeants, a la responsabilite professionnelle (erreurs et omissions), a la responsabilite civile liee aux pratiques d'emploi, aux cyberrisques, aux risques transactionnels, aux detournements et a la responsabilite civile des fiduciaires.  

RESPONSABILITES PRINCIPALES :                                                                         

  • Fournir de la formation, de l'accompagnement, du leadership et une supervision technique a une equipe d'experts en sinistres specialises en risques financiers.
  • Superviser les produits de travail des experts en sinistres et assurer la conformite avec les pratiques exemplaires. 
  • Orienter le developpement professionnel et de carriere du personnel au moyen de la gestion des performances, de l'administration des salaires et du programme de perfectionnement et developpement. 
  • Offrir un service a la clientele superieur, etablir et soutenir des relations d'affaires durables avec les parties prenantes internes et externes. 
  • Rencontrer regulierement les clients pour passer en revue les processus de reclamation et souligner la difference qu'offre le service des reclamations de Chubb.
  • Demontrer une comprehension de l'information relative aux polices, y compris les lois, les normes et les pratiques, interpreter et appliquer le langage des polices et resoudre les problemes de reclamations.
  • Fournir une assistance aux souscripteurs sur les dossiers de reclamations, notamment en produisant des donnees sur les sinistres, et sur les initiatives de marketing.
  • Gerer les relations, les resultats de travaux et les depenses de fournisseurs externes, y compris des avocats, experts independants et autres specialistes.
  • Completion of University degree/College diploma and/or equivalent experience required.
  • 8+ years of industry experience with a track record of managing and developing teams. 
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required to ensure effective communication with all Chubb stakeholders outside Quebec.
  • Completion of post-graduate degree an asset.
  • Proven ability to lead complex claims reviews with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to achieve strong audit and customer service results, holding individuals and teams to the highest standard of delivery.
