About the Opportunity

A well-established international logistics and freight forwarding organization is seeking an experienced Air Export Coordinator to join its Air Operations team in Cypress, CA.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on international air export experience who understands how to manage shipments from start to finish. The Air Export Coordinator will work directly with customers, airlines, consolidators, ground handlers, warehouses, truckers, and overseas agents to ensure shipments move accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with U.S. export regulations.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked as an Air Export Coordinator, Air Export Agent, Airfreight Coordinator, Export Operations Coordinator, Freight Forwarder, International Logistics Coordinator, or Air Export Specialist.


Key Responsibilities

Air Export Operations

  • Coordinate international air export shipments from booking through departure and final handoff
  • Arrange transportation and coordinate cargo movement with airlines, consolidators, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agents
  • Monitor flight departures, arrivals, and shipment milestones
  • Provide proactive shipment updates to customers and internal teams
  • Assist with quoting and rate negotiations as needed
  • Troubleshoot delays, documentation issues, routing changes, and other shipment exceptions

Export Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare, issue, and review Master Air Waybills (MAWB) and House Air Waybills (HAWB)
  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, letters of instruction, certificates, and other shipment-specific documentation
  • Handle or coordinate AES filings
  • Ensure compliance with applicable EAR and OFAC requirements
  • Review shipper and consignee information, Incoterms, commodity descriptions, routing instructions, and destination requirements
  • Identify potential compliance concerns, special handling requirements, or shipment red flags and escalate when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and complete shipment documentation and records

Customer & Agent Communication

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the air export process
  • Coordinate with overseas agents to ensure smooth destination handoff and handling
  • Respond quickly to shipment inquiries, exceptions, and changing requirements
  • Work closely with internal sales, customer service, and operations teams

Billing & File Management

  • Accurately enter shipment details, charges, and vendor costs into the operating system
  • Review vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with job costing and timely file closeout
  • Maintain organized and accurate shipment files

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in air export, international freight forwarding, or airfreight operations
  • Strong understanding of the international air export process
  • Experience coordinating shipments from start to finish / A-to-Z
  • Familiarity with MAWB, HAWB, AES, EAR, OFAC, Incoterms, and export documentation
