Location: Medley, FL (Miami Area)
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8-Hour Shift
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Start Date: Immediate Need – Client Available to Interview and Make Selections as Early as July 10

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Export Agent to join a fast-paced international freight forwarding and logistics operation in the Miami/Medley area. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented logistics professional with strong export operations experience and a customer-focused mindset.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing air and ocean export shipments from start to finish, preparing export documentation, ensuring compliance with U.S. export regulations, and maintaining effective communication with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage air and ocean export shipments from origin through final departure.
  • Handle FCL, LCL, and air freight export operations.
  • Prepare, review, and process export documentation including:
    • HAWB
    • MAWB
    • Bills of Lading (BOL)
    • Commercial Invoices
    • Packing Lists
    • Other required export documents
  • File AES/EEI through ACE and ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations.
  • Coordinate bookings with airlines, ocean carriers, trucking companies, warehouses, and overseas agents.
  • Obtain rates from carriers and service providers and prepare customer quotations.
  • Respond to internal and external quote requests in a timely manner.
  • Monitor shipment status and track cut-off times, departures, and carrier schedules.
  • Provide proactive shipment updates to customers and stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, overseas agents, truckers, customs brokers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and resolve shipment challenges to maintain service excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records and shipment data within company operating systems.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, carrier requirements, and export compliance standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 2-3 years of freight forwarding experience focused on air and ocean exports.
  • Proven experience managing export shipments from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping documentation and export procedures.
  • Experience handling:
    • FCL shipments
    • LCL shipments
    • Air freight exports
  • Experience filing AES/EEI through ACE.
  • Experience working directly with airlines, steamship lines, trucking companies, and overseas agents.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Experience using Magaya or other freight forwarding software platforms.
  • Knowledge of bonded cargo and CFS operations.
  • Experience handling time-critical or AOG shipments.
