About Brillante Academy
Brillante Academy Public Charter School opened its doors in August 2023. In our second year, we will have Pre-K3 through 2nd grade and will serve over 375 students from the Rio Grande Valley in the Mission area and surrounding communities. We will continue to grow one grade-level a year until 8th grade. Over the next decade, we plan to expand our network across the state of Texas to serve over 7,000 students. The Charter Management Organization (CMO) for Brillante Academy is Seton Education Partners, a Catholicly inspired organization that also manages the Seton Teaching Fellows missionary program and El Camino, an optional after-school Catholic faith formation program. Seton Education Partners is also the CMO for our sister schools, the Brilla Schools Network, which are having a transformational impact in Bronx, NY.

Position Overview
We are seeking mission-driven Special Education teachers with an unwavering belief in the limitless potential of ALL students and a demonstrated track record of leading students to realize rigorous academic and social emotional goals outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP). As we continue to grow our Student Services team, we are hiring across multiple settings including resource, inclusion and specialized/self-contained classrooms. In this role, you will deliver high-quality individualized instruction, collaborate with teachers, service providers and families to ensure all students receive the support they need to thrive. Join us in building an exceptional Student Services Program that ensures every child at Brillante is known, supported and set on a path to succeed.
Your typical week would include a variety of tasks such as:
  • Cultivating and leading a joyful learning where every child feels safe, loved and inspired to strive for and meet Brillante's ambitious goals
  • Creating and revising high quality IEPs for students and tracking progress to goal attainment
  • Internalizing, individualizing, and effectively teaching rigorous curriculum that results in meaningful student achievement and growth academically, socially and behaviorally
  • Facilitating student-centered ARD meetings that honor parents as the first educator
  • Building strong and enduring relationships with parents and families and communicating regularly to share student progress and resources
  • Collecting and analyzing various data-sources to understand how students are progressing and collaborating with others to implement the highest-impact strategic actions to accelerate progress
  • Maintaining systems for completing and managing paperwork for your case-load
  • Staying knowledgeable on Special Education law and best practices
  • Planning time effectively to manage both instructional and paperwork/compliance responsibilities
  • Serving as an active member of the Student Services team always striving to bring the perspectives of our students, families and staff members to the table
  • Learning and continuously developing your leadership and instructional practice to deepen your impact

Qualifications
  • Belief in the Brillante Academy mission, model and values
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Current Texas certification in Special Education required
  • Current Texas certification in core content area required for specialized classroom placement
  • Teaching experience in a special education placement strongly preferred
  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish a plus
