Job description

IMC is entering an exciting phase of global growth. As we continue expanding our trading, technology, and research capabilities worldwide, building leadership and technical capability at scale has never been more critical.
We're looking for an experienced Learning Experience Designer to join our global Learning & Development team. You will lead the creation and development of innovative learning solutions that accelerate performance, strengthen leadership capability, and support IMC's growing global workforce. This is not a traditional content production role. You will manage end-to-end learning design projects, collaborate with business leaders, and partner with subject matter experts to diagnose needs, design evidence-based solutions, and facilitate engaging learning experiences across regions.
Your Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and adaptation of learning programs for diverse audiences, applying best practices in adult learning and personalization strategies
  • Use feedback and program evaluation methods to systematically refine experiences
  • Conduct needs analysis and discovery sessions to identify performance gaps, learning opportunities, and recommend AI-driven learning analytics solutions
  • Develop a range of learning assets & experiences-including eLearning modules, practice labs, immersive workshops, multi-day experiential learning programs, job aids, one-pagers, assessments, and facilitator guides- from concept to deployment, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and instructional quality
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications for multiple concurrent projects, demonstrating adaptability and influence
  • Ensure all learning content adheres to organizational learning philosophy, technical specifications, and brand guidelines, with a focus on global audiences
  • Stay current with emerging learning technologies, tools, and trends, and recommend innovative approaches

Your Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience learning or instructional design with proven ability to conduct thorough needs assessments to inform solution design; experience supporting diverse or global audiences is an asset
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Human Performance Improvement, Learning Technology, or a related field is required; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
  • Advanced proficiency with digital authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, or equivalent), AI video creation tools (e.g. Synthesia), and learning management systems (e.g. Docebo)
  • Proven ability to align learning solutions with business outcomes, especially in performance-driven environments
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders, with demonstrated adaptability and stakeholder influence
  • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative in exploring emerging learning technologies, tools, and design trends (e.g. microlearning, gamification, adaptive learning).
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating measurable impact and innovation in learning design
  • Facilitation experience - Proven ability to facilitate engaging sessions for groups of 10-50 people across different formats (e.g. in-person workshops, virtual sessions, hybrid experiences)
  • Learning science foundation - Working knowledge of adult learning principles (e.g. andragogy, social learning theory, cognitive load theory) and ability to apply them to program design
  • Evaluation mindset - Experience using feedback, surveys, and learning analytics to assess program effectiveness and drive iterative improvement
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-output, and occasionally ambiguous environment

You Are
  • A learner-centered designer. You start with understanding your audience - their prior knowledge, their needs, their anxieties - and design backwards from the outcomes they need to achieve.
  • Evidence-informed. You make design decisions based on learning science research and data, not just intuition or convention, and can articulate the "why" behind your approaches.
  • Low ego and execution-focused. You value impact over visibility, take pride in enabling others' success, and deliver high-quality work consistently.
  • You understand that effective development experiences aren't just information transfer; they're about building confidence, connection, and capability through evidence-based design
  • You can articulate why spaced practice matters, design for cognitive load, and translate complex organizational knowledge into engaging learning experiences.
